Changing your set-up during an outage

Which parts of your venue's set-up you can still change in the app while the internet is down, which have to wait for it, and what happens to changes made on the web.

1 min read

The Primary holds your set-up, so most changes don't wait for the internet. For what to do on shift, see When the internet goes down.

What you can change in the app

On the Primary, or any device that reaches it over the Wi-Fi:

  • menus, categories, products and modifiers
  • staff and PINs
  • sections and tables
  • stations, printers and receipt design
  • tills, devices and their assignments
  • venue settings and email report recipients

Changes apply at once and back up later. A PIN set offline is checked against the rest of your business at that person's next online sign-in.

What has to wait for the internet

  • Business details
  • the venue's timezone and invoice series
  • owner and manager accounts not tied to this venue
  • file imports and logo uploads
  • removing a device and resetting the network key
  • moving the Primary to another device

Changes made on the web

A web change made while the Primary is offline takes effect once the Primary is back and has applied it.
